Overview

The Weather Alerts system monitors conditions at your dive locations and automatically notifies you and your booked divers if wave height or wind speed exceeds your set thresholds. A live Windy weather map is embedded in your Dashboard and Trip Manifest.

Setting Up Weather Alerts

  1. Go to Business Settings → Weather Alerts.
  2. Enter your primary dive location — type a place name, marina name, or paste GPS coordinates.
  3. Set your wave height threshold in metres. Typical: 1.0–1.5 m for recreational diving.
  4. Set your wind speed threshold in knots. Typical: 15–20 knots for day boats; lower for smaller RIBs.
  5. Toggle Auto-notify divers ON to automatically send a weather warning to all divers booked on trips within the next 48 hours when conditions are forecast to breach your thresholds.
  6. Click Save.

The Windy Map

  • A live Windy.com map is embedded in your Dashboard and on every Trip Manifest page.
  • Toggle between Wind, Wave height, and Sea surface temperature layers using the controls on the right.
  • Click any point on the map for a precise 5-day forecast for that location.

Understanding Alerts

  • Alerts are based on forecast data updated every 3 hours.
  • You receive an email and in-app notification when conditions are predicted to breach thresholds.
  • Auto-notified divers receive an email with the weather forecast and your contact details.
  • You can send a manual broadcast to divers if you decide to cancel or reschedule a trip.
