Overview
The ScubaDiverLink QR scanner lets you check divers in at the dock using any phone or tablet camera. No paper lists, no internet required at the dock. Each confirmed booking includes a QR boarding pass in the diver's My Trips page.
What You Need
- Any smartphone or tablet with a camera (iOS or Android)
- A browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox) — no app download required
- Camera permission granted to the browser (one-time, 30 seconds)
- Standard or Premium subscription
Opening the Scanner
- Navigate to scubadiverlink.com/app/scan.html, or go to your Dashboard and tap Check-In Scanner.
- Log in if prompted.
- Tap Open Camera to Scan.
- Grant camera permission when prompted — this only happens once per device/browser.
Scanning a Diver
- Point the camera at the diver's QR boarding pass — on their phone screen or a printed copy.
- Hold steady for 1–2 seconds. The scanner auto-detects the code.
- The booking confirmation overlay appears: diver name, trip, guests, certification level, and waiver status.
- Tap Confirm Check-In to mark the diver as boarded. The manifest updates in real time on all devices.
Offline Mode
The scanner works without internet. Each QR code contains the full booking data offline — name, trip, cert, waiver status. Check-ins made offline are queued on the device and synced to the manifest automatically when the connection is restored.
Manual Reference Lookup
- Tap Enter Reference Manually if the QR code can't be scanned.
- Type the 8-character booking reference (format: DL-XXXXXX).
- Tap Look Up → Confirm Check-In as normal.
